Diatomacous Earth is a powder used to control insects as well as used in the building industry.
Diatomaceous earth is not poisonous; it does not have to be eaten in order to be effective.
Diatomaceous earth causes insects to dry out and die by absorbing the oils and fats from the cuticle of the insect’s exoskeleton.
Its sharp edges are abrasive, speeding up the process.
Most commonly used for lice & mites for poultry, birds, dogs and even for small hive beetle in beehives
Small hive beetle:
Place into the beetle tray and cover the entire area.
The beetle will then come along and die accordingly.
Check yiour beetle trays weekly to ensure the diatomacou earth does not have moisture in it.
It needs to be dry in order to be effective.
Replace once the powder has become crusty.
Poultry, birds & dogs:
Rub all over the animal. (on top, under the wings, on the breast, the neck etc).

The chickens will use this for a dust bath.
