Thymol is a naturally occurring substance derived from the plant thyme.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"\u003eApiguard gel comes in 50g ready-to-use aluminium trays (two will treat one standard colony). Alternatively, an application can be made in the autumn immediately after honey supers have been removed\u003cbr\u003eDo not use when the maximum daily temperature is lower than 15 C or when the colony activity is low or when temperature is above 40 C\u003cbr\u003eRemove all honey supers before treatment\u003cbr\u003eUse in hives where comb honey is to be collected is not recommended\u003cbr\u003eTo avoid potential tainting problems, treatment during honey flow is not recommended\u003cbr\u003eDo not feed colonies before treatment\u003cbr\u003eCombine weak colonies before treatment\u003cbr\u003eAll colonies of an apiary should be treated simultaneously \u003cbr\u003ePeel back the foil lid of one tray leaving one corner of the lid attached to the tray. Place the opened tray centrally on top of the brood frames, gel side up. Ensure there is free space of 5 mm between the top of the tray and hive cover. Close the hive. After two weeks place another newly opened tray beside the old one. Leave the product in the colony for a further four weeks or until the supers are installed, whichever is the sooner. Remove the used gel sheet prior to installation of honey supers\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFor bulk use:\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlace the dosing card in the middle above the brood frames.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe product should be mixed well before use with a hive tool or similar for 10 seconds. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePush the syringe nozzle all the way into the gel, making sure that no air enters they syringe. Slowly pull back on the plunger to aspirate 52 ml of gel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePull the syringe out of the gel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGently push the plunger to release the gel from the syringe progressively to the entire surface of the dosing card.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMake sure that there is a free space of at least 5 mm between the top of the gel and the lid of the hive. Close the hive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWash the syringe in warm water and allow to dry.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter 2 weeks replace the first dosing card with a new one and apply the second dose of 52 ml following the same procedure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLeave the product in the colony for a further 2 weeks until it totally disappears from the dosing card.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRemove the product when installing the supers on the colony.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eRisk to bees:    \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe addition of the second application of gel may cause disturbances in the behaviour of the colony, such as agitation, absconding etc. If these conditions occur, remove the additional gel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eWithholding Period:   \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e0 days.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTaste tainting may occur if hives are treated during honey flow.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eDisposal:   \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDispose of container by wrapping with paper and putting in garbage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFor 3 kg container: \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTriple-rinse container and dispose of rinsate in compliance with relevant local, state or territory government regulations. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean container to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush, or puncture container and deliver to an approved waste management facility. If an approved waste management facility is not available, bury the broken, crushed or punctured containers 500 mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, vegetation and tree roots, in compliance with relevant local, state or territory government regulations.
