Excluders are what we use to keep the queen bee in the bottom box. These are placed between the bottom box and the super on top. This is because the queen can only lay up to 7 and 1/2 of brood at one time. This also stops the queen from laying in your honey super and making a complete mess.
Using a clearer board is a less invasive way to remove your honey for your bee hive. This is because you do not have to upset the bees buy brushing the bees off individual frames. The key to remember is if you are taking a box off you must put a box on underneath, so when the bees pass through the one way entrance they have room below. Leave the clearer board on over night for best results.
