This base uses a mesh for ventilation, small hive beetle and varroa mite management.
It includes a removeable tray to help trap and kill small hive beetle and varroa mite.
The bees chase the small hive beetle around the hive until they either throw them out the front, or the beetle falls through the mesh into the tray.
You may use diatomaceous earth or a chux cloth to help trap them within the removable tray.
If you are using this for varroa mite, use a sticky mat (instead of diatomaceous earth or a chux cloth) on the tray to catch any varroa mite or beetle.
Replace the sticky mat as needed.
For best use: Paint inside and out with 2 coats.
Attach base to honey super to make a brood box. Making it easier to move around in case of emergencies.
